Sunday Brunch at: Café 4

A happy blend between breakfast and lunch, eating and culture, comes the wonderful invention of "Sunday Brunch". The original birthplace of such a great idea is uncertain, as some speculate it being from the breaking of a fast after going to mass, or an English habit after a hunt. Still, the idea of having a Sunday brunch with family and friends sparks a sense of culture and society, a break from a fast-paced world.

My most recent brunch took place at Café 4, located in Market Square of downtown Knoxville. It was a place I had visited for an afternoon coffee with the husband, as we frequent downtown quite often as good weather permits, but I had never had the pleasure of eating there. Their menu was delightful, as it includes favorites from pancakes and Belgium waffles, to classics such as Benedict Oscar with a Hollandaise sauce to die for! Browsing through neighboring menus, Café 4 had an excellent deal on mimosas (a Sunday brunch must-have), and even featured a pomegranate mimosa for those looking for something different from the brunch mold. Here is a link to their seasonal Sunday Brunch Menu for Spring/Summer 2014: click here

The service was excellent. Even though the place was alive with people, the wait was non-existent, and  getting the food to the table was quite timely. Beyond this, the beauty about this restaurant is the fact that all of their produce is seasonal and is purchased from local farmers. Not only do you feel good about helping local business, you are helping local growers and can feel good about what is going into your body!

Looking for a great place to try? I love it: fair pricing, nice location, great service, and wonderful food, fit for a delightful Sunday out.
